Savannah Walker Psy.D.
Savannah Walker, PsyD., Licensed Psychologist
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Languages in which I conduct therapy: English
My approach to therapy: I am a White, cisgender, bisexual woman originally from the Midwest who now calls Tampa home. My main priority as a therapist is to provide a warm, non-judgmental, collaborative space where my clients can feel safe to explore their inner and most authentic self, validate their own experiences, and discuss their areas of concern. I am passionate about empowering my clients through compassionate, culturally sensitive care that responds to the needs of each individual client. I approach therapy from a multicultural-feminist and interpersonal lens. I specialize in working with trauma and interpersonal concerns, while I also have experience providing therapy with a wide range of concerns, including depression, impact of discrimination/adverse life events, anxiety, life transitions, identity, and more. I am a strong believer that healing can look so differently for each individual and am honored to play a part in the amazing changes clients make in their own journeys.
My approach to supervision: My style is developmental and interpersonal in nature, with the goal of meeting my trainees where they are at. I aim to create a safe environment that encourages authenticity and helps to support supervisees as they look to find the type of clinician that they want to be. Open discussions around how worldview is shaped by experiences, cultural/contextual factors and transference/countertransference are typical discussions, as I maintain a multicultural-feminist and interpersonal lens within my supervision. I take a strengths-based approach while still maintaining focus on growing my trainees skill set and confidence within the therapeutic space.
A Fun Fact: In my free time you can find me working out/playing volleyball, enjoying the outdoors, eating good food, engaging in advocacy work, or reading a good book on the beach. I am also huge on travel and do so whenever I have the chance!
