AI-Enhanced Learning: Empowering Student Success

When it comes to using generative AI, there's a lot to think about! We want to show you how to responsibly and effectively integrate generative AI tools into your teaching practices, supported by USF's guidelines and resources. In this workshop, we'll begin by covering USF's guidelines for ethical generative AI usage. We'll then explore various applications of AI in teaching and learning, such as creating content, including AI-generated media. You'll also learn best practices and "gotchas" to watch for when working with these powerful tools.

Introduction to (Digital) Accessibility

In this session, you'll learn what makes documents and digital media assets "accessible" within your course. You'll learn why accessible is not only required, but beneficial to all students. We'll then explore the tools to help you get your files in shape, and wrap up by demonstrating easier fixes you can do now in Canvas and Word.

In this session, we'll be discussing strategies & tools to help make this happen in both synchronous and asynchronous courses. This session includes time for a hands-on approach to dive into an online course and "play" with the tools.

Bring Book Club Vibes to Your Course with Social Annotations

Want to boost student engagement with your course materials? Try social annotations! This approach lets students interact with content — and each other — “in the margins,” encouraging deeper reading, shared insights, and stronger learning communities. Think collaborative commenting on articles, videos, or podcasts using SpeedGrader-like annotation tools. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to design these activities with practical strategies you can use right away.

Join our GenAI Faculty Learning Community, which meets on the last Friday of each month, each session focusing on a different GenAI-related topic. 

The sessions are open to everyone in a teaching role at USF, and no prior experience with AI is required. Come ready to share your own approach and hear how others are navigating this evolving space.

Videos and Accessibility

Making the videos in your course accessible goes beyond ensuring they have captions. Whether they are lecture or demo videos you made, or external ones such YouTube videos you want students to watch, we'll cover them all. We'll start with all the pieces that need to be posted with the videos, and then go over tips when making your own or choosing external videos.
