Learn about 2025 Tech for Aging Hackathon (TASH)
The 2025 Tech for Aging Hackathon (TASH) is a 7-week (May 12-June 27) opportunity for our students to team up and solve real-world healthy aging and caregiving challenges. Participants will work alongside professors from the Center for Innovation, Technology, and Aging (CITA) and the Bellini College of AI, Cybersecurity, and Computing. At the end of TASH, solutions will be evaluated, and top teams will receive certificates and prizes (tentative). Exceptional participants may also be offered opportunities to continue as paid research assistants fully develop their innovations. CITA will also help transform the most promising solutions into life-changing technologies through collaborations with organizations and finding agencies. This year, 38 University of South Florida (USF) students (undergrads and grads) formed 14 teams to work on six selected projects. The projects span different topics and ideas and will all require new solutions and different technology being used for each. Additionally, each project will have a mentor or mentors who are CITA affiliated faculty or work in the Bellini College at USF. The job of the mentors are to engage regularly with the students and help them to stay on track toward their goals.
