Lyndsie Wilson began teaching at USF in 2025 where she instructs the horn studio, teaches applied horn lessons, and directs the USF Horn Ensemble. Before moving to Tampa, she was the Horn Professor at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ from 2012 – 2025. Ms. Wilson has experience teaching music in public and charter school systems, at levels ranging from elementary through high school, She has taught private lessons to students and adults of all ages, focusing on horn pedagogy, audition preparation, and solo performances.

Before coming to Florida, Lyndsie was a valued performing artist with the premier arts organizations of Philadelphia, PA including orchestral, Broadway, opera, pops, ballet, chamber music, jazz, contemporary, and solo works. She regularly performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philly POPS, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Opera Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Ballet. Outside of Philadelphia, she played with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Opera Delaware, and the Bay Atlantic Symphony in Southern New Jersey. She has also played extra and substitute horn with the Cleveland Orchestra on numerous occasions. During summers, she coaches chamber music for the Kinhaven Music School, and was an orchestra member of the Spoleto Festival, USA in Charleston, SC.

In her continued efforts to promote the Horn, Lyndsie has enjoyed presenting multiple events for the Horn community. In 2014, she hosted the International Horn Society’s, Northeast Horn Workshop, at Rowan University, where she provided a weekend of masterclasses, lectures, and concerts, with local horn players, university students, and guest artists. In 2017, she was a co-host of the International Women’s Brass Conference, where she partnered in organizing a weeklong event of featured artists, competitions, masterclasses, exhibits, recitals, and concerts.

Ms. Wilson received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance from Temple University and graduated with her Master of Music degree in Music Performance, from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Her principal instructors include Randy Gardner, Eli Epstein, Richard King, Richard Solis, Nolan Miller, Jerome Ashby, Jennifer Montone, and Julie Landsman.

In Florida, Lyndsie is looking forward to performing with the ensembles and theaters around the Tampa area. She is excited to return as second Horn to the Sarasota Opera Association in Sarasota, Florida, after being an orchestra member there from 2002-2012. She continues to teach privately, enjoys sharing masterclasses, coaching ensembles for horn, winds, and brass, and regularly enjoys performing solo recitals, and chamber music concerts. She is thrilled to bring her enthusiasm for the horn and performing arts to USF.
